This is how you apply for SEL’s strike pay

SEL members apply for a strike pay of 100 euros per work shift via SEL’s eService after the strike.

SEL members will be paid a strike pay of EUR 100 per work shift for strike days. According to the law, EUR 16 of the strike pay is tax-free. According to the instructions of the tax administration, 40 percent of the rest of the strike pay is withheld, so the member is paid EUR 66.40 from the strike pay.

SEL members apply for a strike pay of 100 euros via SEL’s eService after the strike. You can use SEL’s eService if you have online banking credentials or a mobile certificate.

Strike pays are paid on Tuesdays. All strike pays that have been applied and checked by the previous Thursday are paid all at once. Strike pays applied through SEL’s eService are paid the fastest. Strike pays applied otherwise than through SEL’s eService are paid as the information is transferred from paper forms to payment.


How to apply for strike pay via SEL’s eService

1. Log in to SEL’s eService at www.selry.fi/easiointi. You can apply for strike pay after the strike days. You must apply for strike pay by 31.5.2025 at the latest.

2. Add your account number to your information under Member Information (Jäsentiedot) -> Account Information -> Edit and save the information.

3. Report your strike days from the SEL’s eService home page under Strike pay (Lakkoavustus). Certify the information you have given as correct and save the information.


If you cannot apply for strike pay via SEL’s eService

SEL members who are unable to apply for strike pay through SEL’s eService and those working under SEL’s collective agreement participating in SEL’s strike from other SAK trade unions apply for strike pay by filling in their information on a paper form, which can be obtained from the SEL shop steward at the workplace. You must apply for strike pay by 31.5.2025 at the latest.

New members joining SEL no later than the day before the strike day are entitled to SEL’s strike pay.

SEL’s strikes are legal strikes. An individual worker cannot face consequences for participating in a strike.
